REACTIONS TRAIL OBASANJO'S POLITICAL PUNCH ON PRESIDENT BUHARI

Following former President Olusegun Obasanjo's advise to President Buhari to forget about a re-election bid for Aso Rock in 2019, NAIRA CHRONICLES interviewed a cross section of Nigerians in the diaspora to find out their take on this latest political development:

Joseph, Birmingham, UK:

"It is high time someone told PMB the truth! Thank God, it is OBJ that has spoken."

Bamidele, London, UK:

"During this present era of PMB, Nigerians have been so divided along tribe and religion. Again, PMB is one that never accepts responsibility. He just keeps on passing the bulk. It is a shame."

Patrick, Ontario, Canada

" I like this. My reason is that OBJ has realised his mistake for supporting PMB. Let us also not forget that the governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai also said similar things in a letter to PMB sometime last year. PMB is a man that does not like the truth. If his own wife can complain without a listening ear. He will not listen to reason except what psycophants tell him."

Smart, Sydney, Australia:

" What are we really talking about? It is a shame. A lot of us in the diaspora put so much hope on PMB. He has failed us. Look at people like Prof Adesanmi who supported him. Everyone is turning their backs. After three years of lack of drive, energy and direction. I think OBJ is right. I agree with him on all fours!"

Ibrahim, Accra, Ghana:

"Let us forget about tribal sentiments. All Nigerians are feeling the hardship. Whether Igbo or Hausa or Yoruba. We are feeling the pains of misrule. Someone needs to tell PMB the truth."

Tijani, London, UK:

"I don't know why OBJ wants to be heard all the time. A man who wanted third term illegally is talking about someone who can legally get a second term."
