On Monday, the DSS made an attempt to arrest Jos-based fiery preacher and prophet, Pastor Isa El-Buba. It will be recalled that Pastor El-Buba had in a sermon criticised the menace and destruction of human lives and properties being perpetrated by Terrorists cum Fulani herdsmen. In a video that has gone viral, the fearless preacher called on Nigerians to exercise their rights not via arms but through their civic power and mandate vote out the administration of President Muhammad Buhari. According to the preacher, Mr Buhari has not shown sincerity in dealing with the crisis especially in the wake of the wanton carnage carried out by the terrorists in Benue State recently.
According to reports, men of the DSS were waiting outside Pastor El-Buba's church to effect his arrest on Monday night. However, in a move of solidarity with the preacher, church leaders and youths from around Jos gathered at EBOMI to provide support to the pastor.
Church leaders who were at the EBOMI premises were in a meeting with Pastor El-Buba for several hours brain storming on the way forward. Brain Michael Ijachi captured the incident in a Facebook post in the following words:

Church leaders who were at the EBOMI premises were in a meeting with Pastor El-Buba for several hours brain storming on the way forward. Brain Michael Ijachi captured the incident in a Facebook post in the following words:
"Following the attempted arrest of the
founder of the Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministries International
(EBOMI) by operatives of the Department of Security Services (DSS), the
Christian Association of Nigeria leaders in the North Central have
rallied round the pastor, showing solidarity.
The leaders who stormed premises of EBOMI this morning at 7:00 am, remained locked in a meeting with Prophet El-Buba for several hours.
A few of the leaders who spoke to our correspondent after the meeting wondered the rationale behind arresting the Prophet when herdsmen were still ravaging the country unabated. They wondered why herdsmen remain shielded by Government, but anyone who attempts to speak or inspire self-defence is intimidated and dealt with.
They condemned the use of the DSS as a political/religious tool to deal with anyone seen as an affront to Government. They wondered why the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria leaders –who have brazenly acknowledged the decimation of Middle belt villagers are yet to be arrested.
Speaking, one of them said “when apostle Suleiman of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide” chastised Governor El-Rufai for paying Fulani herdsmen –they mobilise the DSS to try to tarnish his image with the claims of a mystery relationship with a lady in Canada. Now that Prophet El-Buba has come out to make similar comments, they have mobilised the entire machinery of the DSS against him. Nigerians must know that our magnanimity is not stupidity."
The El-Buba incident of yesterday 15th January 2018, is the second DSS swoop on residents of Jos in the last 7 days. Earlier last week, it would be recalled that, 15 DSS officers descended on “Jos Museum Neighbourhood” in search of one Engr. Simput Dafup –who was alleged to have tried to convert a Muslim girl (Nabila Umar Sanda – daughter of a traditional ruler) to Christianity."
One of Nigeria's popular online news medium, Premium Times is also reporting that the attempts to arrest Pastor El-Buba was foiled as a resulto f the quick intervention of the chairman of Northern CAN, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam. Who mediated between the head of the DSS in Abuja and the Jos-based pastor. It will be recalled that Rev Pam also played a mediatory role when Apostle Johnson Suleman had issues with the DSS.
