Universities in the UK have been told to desists from awarding several first-class degrees without good reason after a report showed that some schools were giving half their students.
The UK office for Students (OfS), is reported by the Times, to have issued a statement showing that most universities were awarding the higher classifications without explanation. The body is now threatening to fine or even cancel the registration of the universities and said that the "spiral grade inflation" risked undermining public confidence.
