Following the denial by the King Centre of giving President Muhammadu Buhari an award, several Nigerians have been commenting on the embarassing situation on twitter.
One of the tweets that catches the eye is that of the US-based former new media aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Reno Omokri. This is our salvo of the day:
Well, who in the presidency is responsible for this gaffe when the world is now a global village and a verification before annoucing the award would have suffice. It will be recalled that in President Buhari's first address to the nation, a quote from a former French president was lifted and added the speech without acknowledging the source. Someone is not doing his/her job at the villa. These are avoidable gaffes.
