WAKE UP CALL FOR NIGERIA -NUR ALKALI

A Nigerian neurologist at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital and social commentator, Dr Nur Alkali has urged Nigerians to rise up to present security challenges in a post shared on his facebook page on Thursday. According to Dr Alkali:

"The BH kidnappings in Dapchi should be a wake-up call to Mr. President to reform police operations. Civilized societies around the world equip the police well, pay them well and spread them well enough to deter criminals. A society which deploys 37.5% of its police force to guarding VIPs while entire districts lack policemen is not serious with public safety. That is Nigeria today.
But it is we Nigerians who allow it. Teenagers in the United States have held street protests and rallies to demand for tighter gun controls following a spate of mass shootings. They have met members of congress and President Trump, and told them "we will vote you out if you don't listen". Here, hundreds have died from armed banditry in Zamfara State alone, but all victims do is complain on Facebook."
