CONTROVERSIAL UKRAINE-BASED NIGERIAN PASTOR HINTS ON POSSIBLE RETURN TO NIGERIA

QUESTIONS PASTOR SUNDAY MUST ANSWER BEFORE HIS NEXT LIVE BROADCAST ON SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKS DISPARAGING OTHER MEN OF GOD

1. Is he still the lead pastor of the church in Ukraine?
2. Can he upload a current message he preached in church?
3. What happened between him and his former spiritual mentor Apostle Ulysses Tuff?

The founder of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for all Nations Church in Kiev, Ukraine, Nigerian born controversial pastor, Dr Sunday Adelaja has hinted of a possible return to his home country. In a video posted on social networking site, Youtube and viewed for over 2,000 times, the pastor responded to questions put to him by his interviewer and announced that God revealed to him to go back to Nigeria.

In recent times, the social media savvy pastor has been very critical of other pastors in Africa and Nigeria. In a series of live broadcasts on the social media network Face Book, Pastor Adelaja has called out a number of Nigerian pastors such as Bishop Oyedepo, Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Enenche, Pastor Ibiyomie, Pastor Lazarus Mouka to mention  but a few. Without mincing words, Pastor Adelaja has described some practices in the church in Africa as pure magic.

Before his current focus on the African church and especially Nigerian ministers, Pastor Adelaja had been engaged in the overseeing of his ministry in the Ukraine. The young Pastor Sunday Adelaja, left Nigeria for the former Soviet Union as a teenager on a scholarship to study. It was while he while the 19 year old Sunday was studying, that he started ministry and built the very successful and celebrated church. While Pastor Sunday was being celebrated across the globe for his exploits in ministry and his authorship of very best selling books, he was battling with personal challenges. The popular Christian online magazine (c) Christianity Today on 17 May, 2016 reported that Pastor Sunday was being investigated by the Church in Ukraine on allegations of multiple sexual affairs with female parishioners. The Magazine reported that Pastor Sunday confessed to this affairs when he posted a video on his blog titled: "Sexual Sin Is Not Enough to Take You to Hell.' However on a search on the blog today 11 December 2017, the post has been taken down.

In a recent live Facebook broadcast, Pastor Sunday hinted that there was no real accuser and that non of his accusers have come forward to say that he committed any sexual sin with them. However, the information made public by the Council of Bishops of Christian Evangelical Churches of Ukraine, the church leaders in Ukraine warns the church about the shenanigans of Pastor Sunday Adeleja. There are also allegations about Pastor Sunday being a party to the start up of a ponzi scheme liken to MMM. It is alleged that Pastor Sunday and his group duped subscribers of about $100million. Even though Pastor Sunday was not the head of the Kings Capital Ponzi Scheme, he encouraged church members to invest in the scheme that turned out to be a fraud.  See Report on the alleged fraud here.

In his defence, Pastor Sunday has come out to say that the scheme was not a fraud but that it failed because of the economic crisis. He also claims that he was being prosecuted politically for his stand on some issues that touched on the government in Ukraine.

As regarding the allegations on sexual immorality, a website, ZimEye claimed to have exposed Pastor Sunday's immoral affairs with women. An undercover reporter posed as a "Prophet" and secretly recorded his conversation with the Ukraine based pastor.  (You can listen to the recording here)

The undercover Prophet said to Pastor Sunday that God is deleting the photos, text messages and emails Pastor Sunday had with the women that could incriminate Pastor Adelaja. The latter chorused 'Amen.'  However, a group including his wife, Bose and three others have dismissed the report of the under cover reporter stating that the recording was fraudulently obtained.

In another development, Pastor Sunday's spiritual father and mentor, Apostle Ulysses Tuff, the founder and pastor at The Way, The Truth, and the Life Christian Centre in Georgia, United States has written Pastor Sunday to say as follows:

"I am not a professional psychiatrist, nor profess to be one, but you never addressed the sins you committed against those innocent women, many of which are married,” wrote Ulysses Tuff, founder and pastor at The Way, The Truth, and The Life Christian Center in Georgia, to Adelaja in a letter obtained by CT. He has been Adelaja’s mentor since 1995.
“If I had to use words to describe and give a very general perspective about you, I would choose such words as hallucination of grandeur, narcissistic, or sociopathic behavior,” Tuff continued.
“Yet, you said that according to 1 Cor. 2:2-10, everything you are going through is connected to your Apostleship,” he wrote. “Not Paul, nor any of the apostles in preparation for apostleship were found to have defiled 20, 30, or more women (this number of women was what you said on my first night meeting with you, you also said there could be more, you don’t remember). It is damaging to the integrity and laws of scriptural interpretation, how you have twisted the scripture to paint a picture of your sainthood and my life as one that was so grievous.”
While it is not in doubt that Pastor Sunday hopes to return to Nigeria, the question is, why is he disparaging other ministers? Could it be that he is trying to build a base of followership in the country to make it easier for his return having lived for over 30 years abroad? In his own words 'I have spent only 4 years of my conscious life in Nigeria. I don't know the people and I don't eat the food.' Why is Pastor Sunday a one man show? He is not in fellowship with the other ministers in Ukraine and he is creating a distance and a holier-than-thou attitude towards fellow ministers in Nigeria. How can a man of God spend three hours online criticising fellow ministers and never preaching to the lost?
Again, Pastor Adelaja's modus operandi which is the editing of the videos of men of God to drive home his point shows that he is up to some objective. Can he say that all that there is to all the ministers in Nigeria is evil? Why has Pastor Adelaja not commended any other pastor? No doubt Pastor Adelaja is intelligent and a reputable scholar but what are his true plans? He has said that there is nothing wrong with not going to church and has also said that no church should lay claim to any member. In a recent video (see below) Pastor Sunday emphatically says no church has members. Is that what a church leader should be saying?

The truth is that Pastor Sunday's videos and/or live broadcast are geared towards fault finding. It is so easy to claim that he is correcting the anomalies in the church. The vexed question is this. Has he reached out to his fellow men of God in line with the scriptures before calling them out? Is he doing a service or a disservice to the Kingdom of God?
If THE TRUTH IS THAT THE MEN OF GOD IN AFRICA MUST REMAIN FOCUSED AND CONTINUE WITH THE GOOD JOB THE ARE DOING. THEY ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD AND NOT TO PASTOR SUNDAY ADELAJA.
